"Catholic" Colleges meet their new boss

It's the NRLB.  Xavier College is the latest "Catholic" institution of higher learning determined by the NRLB to be “not a church-operated institution” and therefore subject to federal labor law.  Manhattan College got the same treatment back in January.  Turns out schools like Xavier and Manhattan can't have the benefits and protections of being Catholic institutions by simply pretending to be.  These colleges will discover in years to come that they have  additional, even harsher bosses than the NRLB.  They may even realize that the Land O'Lakes Statement was a Faustian bargain.  They will certainly pine for the days when they only had to answer to the authority of Holy Mother Church.
Update:  Crisis magazine has more here.
