Papal Teaching for Today

From Pope Pius XII's encyclical "Fulgens Corona," proclaiming a Marian Year to commemorate the centenary of the definition of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception, September 8, 1953 (full text here):

And it seems to Us that the Blessed Virgin, who throughout the whole course of her life -- both in joys, which affected her deeply, as in distress and atrocious suffering, through which she is Queen of Martyrs -- never departed from the precepts and example of her own Divine Son, it seems to us, We say, that she repeats to each of us those words, with which she addressed the servers at the wedding feast of Cana, pointing as it were to Jesus Christ: "Whatsoever He shall say to you, do ye" John. 2. 5).

Papal Teaching of the Day

                                     Pope Pius XII
                           Papacy began March 2, 1939 - ended October 9, 1958

From Wikipedia: Pius XII explicitly invoked ex cathedra papal infallibility with the dogma of the Assumption of Mary in his 1950 Apostolic constitution Munificentissimus Deus. His magisterium includes almost 1,000 addresses and radio broadcasts. His forty-one encyclicals include Mystici Corporis, the Church as the Body of Christ; Mediator Dei on liturgy reform; Humani Generis on the Church's position on theology and evolution. He eliminated the Italian majority in the College of Cardinals in 1946.

From Pope Pius XII's encyclical "Ad Caeli Reginam," establishing the feast of the "Queenship of Mary:"

So it is that St. Ephrem, burning with poetic inspiration, represents her as speaking in this way: "Let Heaven sustain me in its embrace, because I am honored above it. For heaven was not Thy mother, but Thou hast made it Thy throne. How much more honorable and venerable than the throne of a king is her mother."[10] And in another place he thus prays to her: ". . . Majestic and Heavenly Maid, Lady, Queen, protect and keep me under your wing lest Satan the sower of destruction glory over me, lest my wicked foe be victorious against me."
