And what about this place, Dr. Hawking?
"Heaven is a fairy story," says Stephen Hawking. He doesn't mention Hell, which is the afterlife locale I would be investigating with great care if I were making a strictly rational inquiry.
Hawking's did not massage his statement with making it personal. He made a proclamation which was posited as unquestioning. Aside from that, how does a person of faith respond? My response was to see the question as a challenge. I asked myself, what do I believe? And more importantly, Why do I believe? My faith enabled me to see the Hawking's statement as an opportunity to renew my faith and to recommit to my faith.
Dear Luke, Dr Hawking says heaven is a fairy story for people who are afraid of the dark. That is not an argument. That is an insult. Insults are personal. My response was to laugh, and induce others to laugh, at Dr. Hawking for behaving like a silly ass. Thanks for the commment.
