24 killed in Egypt during protest against attack on Coptic church

Protesters say they were attacked before police fired rubber  bullets into the crowd.

I heard a report on this incident on NPR;  they described it as violence between Christians and Muslims.  That's rather like describing the crucifixion as violence between Jews and Romans; while technically correct, it overlooks the essence of what's taking place.

UPDATE:  Ahdaf Soueif claims the Egyptian army was intentionally misled to believe they were under attack by Coptic protesters, and asks who misled the army, and to what purpose?

Why Time Magazine Is a Joke

Time poses the question clearly enough: “Who’s Behind Egypt’s Sectarian Violence?”   However, Time’s answer is exceedingly vague, even willfully blind.  Since Time is afraid to connect its own dots, I will do it for them.

-Muslims in Egypt are becoming more violent.
-The violence is directed against Christians.
-The Egyptian government does not restrain the violent Muslims.
-Thus, Muslims and the Egyptian government are behind Egypt's sectarian violence.

Why was that so hard for Time to say?
