About a year ago, Father L, a Benedictine monk from our local monastery, recommended St. Alphonsus Liguori's "The Glories of Mary," and I've been reading St. Alphonsus ever since There's lots of St. Alphonsus Liguori to read; he was the author of 111 books. In the course of researching St. Alphonsus online, I've come across references to his music, but never actually heard any. That's about to change, because the Redemptorists, the religious congregation St. Alphonsus founded, has undertaken a project to record St. Alphonsus's very extensive body of music. The Redemptorists found a devout Catholic popular musician and member of the band "Chicago" (!) to manage the project, and many others, including cloistered Redemptorist nuns and Liam Neeson, have assisted.
