What are they afraid of?

Bishop Peter Li Hongye, who had been imprisoned for more than 30 years by the Chinese Communist government, died during the Easter Vigil liturgy this year at the age of 91.  The Chinese Communist government "discouraged" people from attending Bishop Li Hongye's funeral.  Now they have removed the cross from his grave.
